Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) is responsible for providing capital funding as well as operation and maintenance subsidies for drinking water systems in First Nations communities. INAC drinking water engineers have had close interactions with the RES’EAU team via our engagement with First Nation communities and water operators. They have provided input on key issues and challenges and identified areas where we can make a tangible impact. The close interaction between RES’EAU students/HQP and INAC’s team of drinking water engineers provides unique training opportunities for the future generation of water professionals. The successful completion of the RES’EAU program will assist INAC in identifying appropriate treatment technologies matched to specific community characteristics.
