Prof. Benoit Barbeau is a professor at École Polytechnique de Montréal (ÉPM) and the associate chair holder of the NSERC-IRC on Drinking Water at ÉPM. He is also the director of CREDEAU, a multi-university research infrastructure consortium dedicated to the development of innovative water and biosolid treatment processes. Author of over 60 peer reviewed publications, his expertise includes biodegradation, membrane, oxidation-based processes, disinfection and water quality issues in distribution systems. For over a decade, he served as a member of the Quebec Committee in charge of validating drinking water technologies. He also prepared many guidance manuals for the Quebec Ministry of Environment, including the GWUDI protocol, chapters of the Quebec Design Guidance Manuals, etc. Dr. Barbeau will serve on the Scientific Management Committee as the leader of Theme I.
