RES’EAU Investigator Dr. David Wilkinson to Receive 2014 Grove Medal

RES’EAU-WaterNET investigator Dr. David Wilkinson, Canada Research Chair in Clean Energy and Fuel Cells at the University of British Columbia, will receive the prestigious 2014 Grove Medal. The Grove Medal is named in honour of Sir William Grove, the inventor of the fuel cell.  

The presentation of the award and Dr. Wilkinson's plenary address will open the Fuel Cells 2014 Science & Technology conference, taking place April 3-4, 2014 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 

Dr. Wilkinson is an expert in applied electrochemical engineering and a Tier I Canada Research Chair. Prior to this appointment at UBC, he was the VP of R&D at Ballard Power Systems. Until 2003, Dr. Wilkinson was the leading all-time fuel cell inventor in terms of issued US patents.  He has received numerous awards for his innovative work, including the R.A. McLachlan Memorial award, the highest professional engineering award in BC.
