Nicole Wilson

Nicole’s work with local communities and First Nations on water-related challenges provides insight into the socio-cultural and ecological dimensions of water governance. Nicole is currently a PhD student at UBC’s Institute for Resource, Environment and Sustainability. Building on her existing relationships with the Yukon River Inter-Tribal Watershed Council and several Yukon First Nations, her dissertation research investigates First Nations’ risk perceptions and roles in water governance in the Yukon River Basin. In the future, Nicole hopes to apply her knowledge of First Nations relationships to water to develop effective multi-disciplinary approaches to water management and governance.
