Pranav Chintalapati

Pranav's interest in water treatment began during his undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at UBC.  He completed an undergraduate thesis on the viability of natural coagulants derived from plant seeds as an alternative to conventional chemical coagulants in developing communities.  He has spent several months in rural Mexico working on a variety of international development projects related to water, energy, appropriate technology and human rights, and has been an advisor for UBC's International Service Learning program for several years.  Pranav worked as a chemical engineer in the private sector before returning to UBC for his graduate studies.  He is currently researching the effects of UV light on the degradation of algal toxins
